Motorola is (sort of) back!

When I heard the new Lenovo showroom in Marina Square had a Moto booth showcasing and selling Motorola phones, I went down to have a look as soon as I had time.

It's a pretty small booth, but still marks an important step towards bringing the Moto branding back into mainstream.

(Closer look at the 4 Moto phones sold here officially.)

Only 4 Moto phones are being sold here, and they are the Moto G Turbo Edition, Moto X Style, Moto X Force, and the recently released Moto G4 Plus.

Not forgetting wearables too like the Moto 360 2nd Gen, and the Moto 360 Sport.

(Moto Singapore's official facebook page posted this)

What I am more excited about are the new Moto Z phones, which could possibly make their way here too now that Lenovo is officially selling Moto phones in Singapore.

Motorola, under Lenovo has been off to a very rocky start. Key personnels leaving the company (Rick Osterloh, Jim Wicks), less than ideal customer support, and the death of the Motorola name. All that survived seems to be the Moto branding and bat wing logo.

As a Motorola fan though, this is all very disappointing. However, I am still holding out a bit of hope that Lenovo can do right by the Moto name. That they can bring the brand back to its former glory.

Let's just say I am not quite ready to bury Motorola just yet.
