BlackBerry Z30 in Singapore

The Z30 was officially announced for the Singapore market yesterday. It will be hitting our shores on the 10th of October with key partners at a recommended retail price of SGD 828.

The Z30 features a 5” Super AMOLED displays (the largest ever on a BlackBerry smartphone), and a 2880mAh battery (again, the largest ever on a BlackBerry smartphone).

Some key features includes:

  •  BlackBerry Priority Hub - The ability to mark conversations or contacts as a priority so that notifications/messages are given a priority status and allocated into a Priority section in BlackBerry® Hub, helping you to stay organised and focused on the most important tasks. (BB10.2 feature)

  • BBM and Messages Previews in any app - A banner will be display at the top of the display when new messages arrives. You can even reply to selected messages such as WhatsApp, BBM, Text Messages, directly from the banner without ever leaving the app you are currently in. There is the ability to customise what types of notification will be previewed so that you can focus on the task at hand and is only shown messages that you want to be shown, or a priority. (BB10.2 feature)

  • 5” Super AMOLED Display - At 1280 x 720, the AMOLED display provides ample viewing room for all your digital content, from work to play. Having a large screen can be very useful when giving presentations. Since the Z30 comes with a micro HDMI port and Docs to Go built-in, you can give presentations on the fly with just your phone and a cable. Having a large screen means you can display both the slide you are on, as well as notes for the slides on your phone. The larger screen will be great for viewing/editing spreadsheets, word document, presentations as well.

  • Stereo Audio & BlackBerry Natural Sound - The Z30 comes with stereo speakers and quad microphones to allow users to indulge in a truly immersive audio experience. BBM voice call now comes with BlackBerry Natural Sound to give more natural and realistic audio, making conversations sound like you’re in the same room.

  • BlackBerry Paratek Antenna - A new antenna techonology to that dynamically tunes reception to give better connectivity in low signal areas. Keeping you connected in more places.

  • Longer Battery Life - Equipped with a 2880mAh battery, the Z30 is said to last up to 25 hours of mixed use. Not sure how true, but with a 2880mAh battery, I wouldn’t doubt that it will be able to last most users a day of use.
"This is an exciting introduction, especially for customers in Singapore. The BlackBerry Z30 smartphone is built upon the unique mobile computing experience of the BlackBerry 10 platform and is design for people looking for a smartphone that excels at communications, messaging and productivity," said Cameron Vernest, Managing Director for Singapore at BlackBerry.
