What if Wayne Enterprises bought BlackBerry?

Inspired by CrackBerry’s “What ifs” series of posts, which explores the possibility that the “strategic alternatives” that BlackBerry talked about, might mean the sale of the company or partnership. I am sure most BlackBerry fans would hate to see that happening if it meant that BlackBerry as we know it now might cease to exist.

I think it is still important to for us to at least explore some options that could pan out, and perhaps hopefully discover some best-case scenario for the future. CrackBerry talked about Cisco, and well as Lenovo, so today I am going to examine Wayne Enterprises.

Wayne Enterprises is one of the oldest, largest, richest, and most far-reaching company in the World. It has its hands in almost everything under its branches, and is best known for being at the cutting edge of technology in most fields.

Why would Wayne Enterprises want to buy BlackBerry?

As we know, Wayne Enterprises is a vast company, and a company that is involved in products that could be top secret. Thus the need for a secure means of communication internally. BlackBerry could provide that. Not to mention Wayne Enterprises is involved in consumer electronics as well under their brand Wayne Electronics, so BlackBerry 10 could become the basis of their consumer range products.

With the purchase of BlackBerry, they would acquire QNX as well, a real-time operating system (RTOS) that is used where the cost of failure is very high. The operating system is used to control huge Cisco Internet routers, lighting and equipment for huge Las Vegas shows, slot machines, windmill turbines, and nuclear reactors, just to name a few markets. Not to mention that QNX is a large player in the automotive industry as well. Did I mention that Wayne Enterprises is involved in the automotive industry as well under the branch Wayne Automotive?

BlackBerry 10, powered by QNX could be used not only as a form of consumer electronic (phones), enterprises (corporates that require secure communications), in health care, in automotive, in manufacturing, and in Aerospace just to name a few. It could be the final piece of the puzzle that will allow them to offer products that work in unison with one another. Not to mention, I think the company could prove to be really useful to Bruce Wayne in his “hobbies”. Think secure communication with his League.. erm I mean Team members, his Watchtower project, his love for customised transportation, his personal computers which needs to be secure and solid, just to name a few.

Wayne Enterprise under their branch Wayne Entertainment, could provide exclusive media contents to BlackBerry. Not to mention they have partnerships with many modelling agencies, media houses, as well as Daily Planet. Yes, they freaking own a newspaper. So they can advertise the hell out of BlackBerry products, assuming they want to keep using the name.

BlackBerry is also the manufacturer of the best physical hardware keyboard ever on a mobile communication device. I know Bruce’s friend Clark who works as a reporter swears by the physical keyboard on his current BlackBerry that allows him to type out his articles on the go with ease. Peek, Flow, and Hub, in addition to Instant Actions would make his “busy” reporter life a lot easier.

Could Wayne Enterprises afford to buy BlackBerry?

Are you fucking kidding me? Of course they could, and with ease.

Pros and cons of Wayne Enterprises acquiring BlackBerry

There’s always the possibility that the brand name “BlackBerry” will cease to exist as it is incorporated into the Wayne Enterprises.

How likely is Wayne Enterprises to buy BlackBerry

I would say the chances are really REALLY high, ONLY IF we put aside the fact that Wayne Enterprises is completely fictional.

Any of you guys own a Wayne Enterprises product? Do you think BlackBerry would be a good fit? How many of you would love to see this happen
